What is domestic violence?

Domestic violence has many definitions. Golding (1999) defines it as violence by current or former husbands, unmarried, boyfriend, girlfriend, or cohabitating partners. The definition of domestic violence includes excessive recurrences of persuasive controlling behavior 1hat one person exploits over another individual (Mccue, 2008). Mccue states that domestic violence is a pattern of physical, sexual, emotional, and economic abuse enacted upon an individual by his/her intimate panner. It is a course of action In which one of the intimate partners in a  relationship experiences susceptibility, helplessness. and the feelings of boing trapped as a result of his/her partner's utilization of power through the continuous use of physical, sexual, psychological and unreasonable force. charitable organization counseling domestic violence awareness
